Poor 50 Cent! He must be starving for attention. Why else would he and his entourage get in a shootout - with no one?
A Jersey City, N.J., police report obtained by Confidential shows the police now believe the Sept. 9 shooting starring 50 Cent, aka Curtis Jackson, and his entourage was nothing more than a gunpowder-scented publicity grab. A cab driver passing by the scene - the parking lot of the local DoubleTree hotel - told police he saw 50 Cent and his friends milling about the parking lot about midnight.
Suddenly, according to the report, a "very tall and muscular man pulled out a large handgun and fired it in the air several times" with no evidence of a "heated exchange between the men gathered in front of the hotel." Patrolmen who happened to have been near the hotel rushed to the scene. They found no one - just nine large-caliber shell casings, including a powerful Federal 45 and Speer 40. One hotel security guard said he heard shots then saw 50 Cent, known for his big hit "Wanksta," and a dozen hangers-on pile into SUVs and peel off. Police investigated the incident as a possible shootout between rival rappers, but the investigation is now shifting to 50 Cent, who's been summoned to the police department with his bodyguards.
Here's a thought: when Madonna wants publicity, she plays tonsil hockey with Britney Spears on national TV. Hey, 50 Cent: How 'bout a well-publicized make-out session with P. Diddy? |
