POP singer Jessica Simpson was in perfect harmony with her 98 Degrees groom Nick Lachey when they tied the knot near her Texas hometown - even though it rained.
The $200,000 twilight extravaganza, held at Austin's Riverbend Church Oct. 26, was everything Jessica, 22, wanted it to be.
"She was beaming from ear to ear," says a source. "She didn't let the rain get her down."
The beauty, whose hits include I Wanna Love You Forever, wowed the 300 guests in a white strapless beaded lace gown by Vera Wang with a cascading train and a short white veil.
Nick, who turns 29 this week, was well-groomed in a Hugo Boss tux.
Jessica's father, Joe, a Baptist youth minister, gave her away while her mother, Tina, proudly looked on.
A Baptist minister friend of Jessica's family officiated at the one-hour ceremony, which included music from Nick's 98 Degrees bandmates - Drew, Justin and Jeff - who sang My Everything.
"Everyone got a little teary," gushed a wedding guest.
The reception, held at nearby Barton Creek resort, featured Maine lobster bisque and baby leaf spinach salad, followed by lemon thyme chicken and wild mushroom polenta.
"For dessert, there were two white-frosted wedding cakes - the bride's and the groom's," says the friend. "It's a Southern tradition."
The bride, who was outspoken about remaining a virgin until her wedding night, danced with her groom to the music of a rocking swing band - and then they were off.
Adds a pal: "They couldn't wait to move on to the honeymoon."
